We are only one week away for leaving on this amazing journey. God has richly blessed us by allowing us to raise all the money needed and then some for the trip. We have been meeting every other week and have had some wonderful speakers come to help us prepare. First we had Kundah, a Cambodian with her two daughters. Kundah survived the Khmer Rouge and had a powerful story about life under Pol Pot. It was a sobering story but Kundah's bubbly personality had us laughing as we attempted to learn some culture and language. Next week had Sodhany, a Cambodian refugee who suffered in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge but was able to escape and made her way to the US when she was young. Lastly we were able to hear from Darwin and Doreen who's son and his family are missionaries in Cambodia. They just returned from visiting for a month in July and had some very helpful travel tips.
So as of now we are packing, taking care of final things and home and work, and preparing our hearts for the great journey ahead. Please check in with us often.
Thanks Julie
