Day 1, continued

As the day went on, small jobs got completed.  The trenches for the rest of the foundation was dug and then filled by hand with large stones by the masons.

The cistern got deeper,

And deeper,

And deeper still

The living room got completely filled with soil, and we started compacting it down.

The trenches got filled with concrete by the masons.

By the end of the day, much was accomplished on the house.  Julio was excited to see so much progress on his house in such a short time.  The team was exhausted and felt very accomplished.  All in all it was a very good first day.
